Vision
To raise up from the “Millennial Generation” (Americans born from 1982-2002) an Issacharian army of fierce lovers and tender warriors who are “Reconciled, Restored, and Released” as they embrace the “Five Great Cs”:
1. The Great Covenant
Through meaningful repentance and faith in Christ, Sons of Issachar are Reconciled to God through the passionate embrace of the Great Covenant initiated by Jesus Christ, the Great Lover of our souls. They are devoted to their personal covenant with Jesus, a covenant that makes possible covenantal relationships with their brothers and sisters in Christ as well. Sons of Issachar value covenant above all else. (Luke 22:19-20)
2. The Great Commandments
Sons of Issachar are being continually Restored to the likeness of Christ as they learn to live out obedience to the Great Commandments: loving God with all their hearts and loving others as Jesus would love them. They are devoted to giving others – both believers and the lost – “glorious glimpses” of what it is like to be loved by Jesus. Sons of Issachar value the journey into deeper intimacy with the Lord and one another. (Matthew 22:37-39)
3. The Great Community
Sons of Issachar are devoted to being a part of a Reformation in how we “do Church.” They long to return to the early Church’s emphasis on relationships, togetherness, unity, connectedness, and love. They delight to live out what the Puritans called the “New Covenant Way,” loving God and one another above all else. They long to continually stir one another to love and good deeds, in the context of covenantal communities. Sons of Issachar value both vertical connectedness to the Lord and horizontal connectedness to each other that will draw hungry and thirsty souls into the Great Community. (Acts 2:42-47)
4. The Great Commission
Sons of Issachar ultimately devote themselves to being Released to pursue their God-given passion in the arena of His calling for them. They long to fulfill the Great Commission by loving the lost into loving Jesus. They live to see Christ exalted and glorified in every arena of society. Above all else, they desire to see others Reconciled, Restored, and Released for the glory of God in this generation. Sons of Issachar value involvement in the fulfillment of the Great Commission so that Jesus would receive the reward of His suffering. (Matthew 28:18-20)
5. The Great Cause
Sons of Issachar “get” their generation. They understand the great battles of their time. They believe that they’ve been born for “such a time as this.” They know they have a rendez-vous with destiny…God’s destiny for them, and they long to fulfill it. Accordingly, they are devoted to contending for the Truth in the clash of civilizations and worldviews looming before them. Sons of Issachar value courage as they seek to both speak and live the truth in love.
On the macro-level Sons of Issachar are tender warriors. They understand the stakes for the Church, America, and our civilization. They “bless and battle” together. They devote themselves to lovingly bless one another as they battle for Revival and Spiritual Awakening, Reformation and Transformation in this hour of history that has been entrusted to them.
On the micro-level Sons of Issachar are fierce lovers. They lovingly war for one another’s souls. They are coming to understand what it means as redeemed and restored image-bearers to love God with all their hearts and to love others as Jesus would love them.
